New Tires

Got BFG 285/65/18's put on Friday. I can tell a difference in weight between these and the Bridgestone Duellers that came on it.

I will try to get some pictures with better lighting a little later, just wanted to share.

good choice. Those are the same tires that I put on my truck, replacing the BFG Trail tires (TRD package).

What tire pressures are you running? I called BFG and they recommended 40 front 43 rear, that gives the same load capacity as stock. I personally run 45/45.

Right now it is what NTB put in them, I have not had time to check them. If I had to guess they are at 35 front and rear. I will at least run 40 in both ends when I do check them. I will bump up the rears when I tow the boat or the 4 wheeler trailer.
I have to take it back and get it aligned again since they did not do a very good job the first time. I will give them one more shot at getting it right or they will owe me a refund and/or pay to have it done right somewhere else.

Yep, 68lbs of added unsprung mass. According to a post on another forum unsprung weight is added at 5x times what it really is. So according to that this is like adding 340lbs of sprung weight.
I have no way to know if that is true or not, but it sounds good.

Did you see a decrease in gas mileage?

Yeah, the last 2 tank I was at 15.2 and 15.8 MPG according to the computer on the truck. With the old tires I was getting 17MPG on average.
I did notice that my speedometer is correct now according to my GPS.

Just curious, Why did you replace the Bridgestones. I ask because I put the Revo's on my wife's Grand Cherokee and absolutely love them. Was thinking about putting them on my Tundra. I currently have Maxxis Mudders and they are reeeeaaaal heavy.

I did not have the Revo's, I replaced the factory Deullers that were on the truck. The first thing I didn't like about them is they are P rated tires, not LT and the second was the tread. It was not an "AT" tire by any stretch of the imagination so pulling a trailer full of 4 wheelers back into the woods with those tires was a little sketchy.

The Tahoe that I had previous to my Tundra did have Revo's on it when I got it. They are not a bad tire, but I prefer the look of the BFG over them. If I remember correctly I only got about 35,000 miles on the Revo's before I had to replace them.

Oh, I think we only have about 15,000 on hers but there's still alot of tread on them. I like the rim saver built into the sidewall of the revo's to help with curb rash plus they've never hydroplaned in heavy rain and it's hard to spin the tires in snow.

There are so many variables when comparing 2 people with the same tires it is impossible to do. Heck, you might end up getting 75,000 out of them for all we know.
I guess it just comes down to personal preference and what you have 1st hand experience with in the past.

Oh I agree, I worked at NTB in Kansas City about a hundred years ago. It was called NTW then.
