Alright peeps, I finally got my tail lights tinted. I told the dude "Not too dark, I dont want them to match my trucks paint or anything, just a nice tint.". Guess comprehension isn't his specialty. Anyway, they look good, but I know I'm just askin for trouble.

I love how the side markers look tinted.

Well, you cant say they don't reflect. I used to have blackout taillight covers on my first truck (93 ford ranger when they first came out) and I got pulled over a lot.

Legality of tinted lights.

The way the california vehicle code reads, it is required that stop lamps are visible in red from 500 feet. They dont have to be on but they need to be red. Thats why euro lights that shine red are illegal too.

FYI most of the stuff we do to our trucks is a violation. You can be pulled over on your way home from the lot where you just purchased your vehicle.

Those lights look sweet, too bad about the ticket. I wonder how strict they are with those in TN, I may have to add those to mine.
Thanks

Probably all depends on how bored the cop is. I gotta admit, it sucks having to be on the lookout for police everytime I drive during the day.
