Run new wires to door speakers?
Has anyone done this? If so, how difficult was it to route it into the door?
If you just tapped into the existing wires, what RMS wattage are you pushing to each speaker? I will have about 75W RMS to each speaker. Although I have spliced into the existing wires before, it depends on the gauge of the wire. If it is easy on the Tundra to route new ones, I will do that. It was a nightmare on my wifes old SUV. |

It's a pain in the rear to get the speaker wire through the rubber tubes from the cab to the door. I only did the driver door so I could wire up the window controls for the driver door. I went ahead and ran a speaker wire too for later. In the end, I had to pull the rubber tube off the truck metal, cut back part of the tape, then run the wire through it, and then put the rubber tube back how it was before. I guess after you do one, it gets easier. But I tried to fish it through the old way and it took a long while to abandon that way.

Thanks Toxarch, I guess most people are tapping into the existing wires. I guess when I get into the project, I will check the gauge of the wires and determine at that point.
