Driving Lights...

For those who already have driving lights.. Where did you hook up the electrical to and did you use a transformer??? I would think with the large amount of current draw that you would have to use a transformer..
Any information would be a help

I'm pretty sure all the wiring is already there if you by the O.E.M kit . I think someone said it was behind the glove box ?

Thanks for a quick response but I guess I didnt describe this correctly..I am talking about the after market add on lights like the ones that some people have mounted on thier bull bar or inside thier grill. I have the factory driving lights in my front bumper

OK I see . Most after market light kits come with a wiring harness including trasformers and switch .

It's all 12 volts. The draw difference is amperage. As long as your wiring is large enough, then you are fine, no need for transformers unless the lights came with them. For large draw lights, the best thing to do is to get power straight from the battery and use a relay to switch that power on and off by either other lights or with a switch in the cab.
