Upgrading Stock Sub?

Hey guys I just got a AVIC-D3 installed recently and I have decided that I want a little more bass. Has anyone swapped out their factory sub? Will it make any difference in sound? I know the wattage will be the same but has anyone done it? I have the JBL system but I really dont want to have to do any re-wiring so I was thinking of just upgrading the sub or put 2 8" woofers in the truck, can it be done without re-wiring everything? I had to buy the adapter to bypass the OEM amp... so can i do it? is it worth it?

Yeah I was just thinking of just replacing the stock sub, but it may be hard to find one that will fit in the factory sub box...
