I have been having this problem for the last month or so..While driving and listening to either the FM radio, Sat tuner, Cd player..etc.. the left chanel front cuts out but only 2 speakers not the tweeter.. It seemed to happen alot more on bumpy roads or making turns...I brought it into the dealer...I drove the truck with him before leaving it at the dealer...It did cut out..left side, He said he did notice the change in sound..Unfortunately..I was driving..He should have been sitting in the drivers seat..It would have been more noticable. 6 hours later they said your truck is fixed..Picked it up and drove 4 miles..same problem
Brought it back to the dealer and spoke to the service technician who originally said he fixed it....Well he did nothing but tighten the cover over the amp under the passenger seat...This is how he diagnosed it...HE PLUGGED HIS IPOD IN WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN THE GARAGE BAY..NEVER DROVE IT. His attitude was not in line....So I said out loud in front of the mechanic, service manager and "lucky for me" The owner of the dealership.. I WILL GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED AT A CAR AUDIO CENTER AND GIVE YOU THE BILL... As I was walking out, the service manager said that they will order an amp for me..... 2 weeks later.. amp installed....same problem..But getting worse now...Whenever it cuts out all I have to do is Bang, smash the dashboard..and the left channel comes alive again... Back to the dealer next week... I decided to call someone in the car audio business,. They said it sounds like a cold solder joint somewhere inside the Head unit DVD/CD in the dash... Sounds about right to me??? What will the dealer do next?????

Yep, or the wires are rubbing something in the dash. You could take the door panel off and test continuity between the speaker wires, and speaker wires to ground(body). If you get a signal(beep), it may be a frayed wire.
Good luck! If they can't get it fixed, I'd follow through with the audio company and bill the dealer...gas is too expensive to be hauling back and fourth. |

Problem Fixed..... Service manager took system out of dash and found a plug not seated in connector properly...I'm blaming this on the store that put my sat radio in....They had the dash apart...
Anyway ............No charge from Toyota....
