Anyone HID conversion?

Has anyone converted their headlights to an HID set? I've had a hard time finding anything that looks reputable. Getting on ebay and finding stuff for a hundred bucks is questionable.

My Tundra's lights are pretty good, a bit better than my 05 F150, but my wife's Acura's HID lights put mine to shame.

Thanks.

I'm guessing you mean me ^^^ ?
The fog lights on mine only work with the headlights on , not just the parking lights .

I am sure someone on here would know how to get them on with the parking lights only .

That would take some re-wiring i'm sure or at least grounding out a certain wire.

How difficult a job is it to install HID"s on the fogs only?? I really wanna do that!

To be completely honest i wouldn't recommend installing an HID kit unless you plan on either retro fitting a genuine pair of HID projectors or get projector headlights....if you dont your just gonna blind oncoming traffic and eventually get pulled over by the Po Po..not good..plus light output on the actual road will not be as good, you get all kinds of glare..hence the blinding light coming towards you.....Timkalbow you ever get people flashing there lights at you??

Plus dont go above a 6k bulb, the bluier doesnt mean the better, the best light output comes at 4300k more on the whiter side but still a tad bit blue but by far the best light output...you dont want smurf lights trust me...6k's would be IMO the most i would go their still pretty blue but not over board like 8k's ( no offense timkabow)...the lower you go in Kelvin the better the light output

Ding, ding, ding. Give this man a cigar. There is a reason those nice, high-end luxury cars -- and more and more "normal" cars have projectors with HIDs, they are LEGAL. Projectors give you the required cutoff.

I don't want to lecture, but think about other people when installing HID kits.

I guess this is the question I was supposed to ask. I want something that gives great light output. Not something that looks blue, or just plugging in some different bulbs. No offense to anyone else....just want something that lights up like a factory set.

So projector set is where it is at? Has anyone come across a good set for Tundra's or is it all just blue light bulbs?

well with some inginuity and a little bit of patience you can actually retro fit a pair of HID projectors into your factory headlights, if you dont wanna do that then find someone selling a set and fab those...just dont buy the cheap proj off ebay, they have junk proj not made for HID's..i retro'ed a pair of Audi TT hid proj into my Civic Si headlights and the light output is Great!! It looks like a factory job...i got tons and tons of help off of HID Retrofit Parts Projectors Ballasts D2S Bulbs this forum is all about retroing your headlights and have excellent info on how to DIY check them out
Hopefully this helps
