Fair enough, I am not sure what make it is. i guess I will have to take a peek at the module to see. It never came with a specific manual, it was incorporated into the Toyota one for the DVD system.

when you plug your ipod in, does it say "vais technologies, ok to disconnect" on the ipod's display?

it may not because you're using a new ipod, but if you have an older one (pretouch screen) plug it in and see what it says.

Ok,

I did a little investigating into the adapter that my dealer installed. It looks like it is a USA Spec. (http://www.usaspec.com/ipod.html).

There are 2 versions of these adapters a PA15-TOY and a PA20-TOY. The 15 is for the non-Nav systems and the 20 is for the Nav package. If the 15 is installed on a system with Nav, it will not display the text. They recommend that all systems with the Nav package use the 20 model.

That means I will be going back to my dealer and get them to order the correct model for my unit so I can get the text function to work.

My only problem with the system is that I can't see what song is playing on the Nav screen. Perhaps that can be fixed, I have just been lazy to this point.
What do you mean Sirius option? I love to have my sirius and ipod. I have the non JBL unit at this time, if that makes a difference.

Is the JBL a toyota manuf or dealer option?

The steering wheel controls are fully functional.

There is no interference at all. The vaistech does not operate on your SAT mode. It makes your car think there is an additional CD Changer attached to it. Each playlist is seen as a CD and each song, is seen as a song on its respective CD. Works flawlessly. It also has an additional aux input on it. So technicially its possible to have:

your stock CD changer, AM, FM, Ipod, Sirius, XM, Aux 1 (on cars dash), and Aux 2 (on vaistech) all connected to your car and working independently.

pretty wild stuff.

I think I'm set on getting the Vaistech when I get home. I was reading up on the Vaistech adapter that plays ipod videos too. Anyone have any experience with those?

So, will the Vaistech work with the non-JBL head unit?
