DVD Question

I just purchased a In-dash DVD receiver and I was wondering do they install like a regular receiver or is there any special wiring?

I'm just assuming you have the video/audio wires to hook up to the monitor since you only bought a receiver. Check and see if you are allowed to view DVDs while in motion (for passenger use only, of course). There are plenty posts to help you work around that if needed.

Hopefully it doesn't have as many wires as my Pioneer AVIC-D3 did (the install from hell).

Your not allowed while in motion, unless you bypass it.. That is what I was wondering if there was a wire for that "safety feature"

I have an Eclipse 6620 DVD/Navi system and the guy that installed it said he grounded the wire that is supposed to go the parking break. The unit thinks its in park so it can play DVDs while I am in motion.

Your installer by law cannot hook up the ground so just ask him to leave it hanging out from under the dash so you can do it. On mine I had to cut a switch into the ground. Every time you start the truck or change gears you have to turn the switch on and off. Strange but it works great. I wouldn't suggest watching a dvd and driving at the same time though. \ NOT GOOD!
