Pictures of DC sub boxes

Since it is so hard to get good bass in the DC, it would be nice to have a thread with Double Cab sub boxes. Good way to share ideas.

I first had a box with (2) 10" Kenwwood shallow mounts. Sounded much better than factory, but wanted more.

Did a center seat bracket mod and now I have (6) 8" Pioneer shallow mounts and it bumps! It is clean, tight and super loud.

What else does everybody have? Results?

Looks good. I went with one 8" Cerwin Vega. I wanted some bass but wanted to keep some storage space as well. Surprising the one 8" thumps pretty well. Its a ported box...
Here some picts of mine under the back seat in DC..I am thinkin of building another one that fits a little better this was the first try..I am not a carpenter LOL..

All of those look great, I went to a local sound shop wanting to get a good soundsystem going, but they said they would have to raise my seats and quoted me some outrageous prices . I was told JL Audio is coming out with slim speakers that will fit under the seat, but who knows how much they will run me. I guess I need to find someone to do a custom job like the ones above. Does anyone know if I could fit W3's or better under the seat? I am looking for some serious bass I just don't wanna spend 4K. I wish I had some box building skills

just go to a different shop .. never hurts to shop around

also check on eBay .. there are pre-built boxes on there

also, get the models of subs that these guys quote you and compare on eBay or crutchfield or something

good luck.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to get started as soon as I get some days off of work. I've been out for 50 days or so now

nekked, there are numerous companies that make "slim" subs. most refer to them as "shallow mount". i know kicker, rockford fosgate, and pioneer are a few companies that make them. nothing wrong with the JLs, but they are ALOT more expensive

First you have to completely remove both seats, thats easy, you will see how to do it with a little investigating. Then cut 1-1/4" from all the plastic coated metal hooks at the top of the seats on the back side. Re-install the seats. Now when you lift the seat from the handle you can lean the back of the seatr forward for amp access. When you lower the seat back down just make sure you push on the seat back so the shorter hooks can catch and engage.

Are you planning on leaving the seat bottoms up?
