3rd party Security System

Okay, so I've finally realized that I need an alarm on my truck. ONly question is which one? Just looking for feedback with what others have. I"m leaning towards the new Viper Responder LE but it wont be out till sometime next month.

The Viper 5701 is set to release this month. So I figure I can start calling around shops locally to see when they'll be getting them and how much it will cost including installation. I've called every shop within 30 miles of my house and NO ONE knows what in the hell I'm talking about. If you owned a business that specialized in something, wouldn't you be aware of new and upcoming technologies regarding your product???

Sweet!!! Please let me know how you like it and yea, that's an awesome price. The installation time for the Viper 5701 is supposed to be about half what it used to be. Maybe that's why the low price. MSRP on the alarm alone is $450.00

Hey Bolivia, please let me know how they worked around the engine immobilizer for the remote start function. I'm curious as to how that works.

Okay, my Viper 5701 just arrived in the mail. Total price for the system and the module needed to bypass the imobilizer was $260.00 delivered. I found a place locally to install for $215.00. I'm getting it installed on Thursday. If anyone's interested , I got it from HookedonTronics.com. They had free shipping on the alarm/remote start I wanted.

whats the deal with wiring one of these systems up? Why doesnt anyone do their own? Seems to me I'd want to be the only person who knows where and how to defeat my alarm... authorized installer or not...

I took one look at all of the wires and started calling people. I've never installed anything like this so I wouldn't even wanna try. If I could, I would.
