No instructions included? If so, a multimeter, soldering iron, heat shrink, and some time and it couldnt be too hard.... or so i say before i've even seen one of the kits. lol

Yeah man if you never installed an Alarm let those guys do it. I did one in my first truck..It was a big pain in the ass. I will install my stereo's noprob. But the alarms ugggg
Plus the alarms are just for the average thieves. Like anything there are pros if they want your truck they will take it even if you have an alarm you did...I have the factory alarm & it did it's job. They did break my back window but thats it...The other cars that were parked next to me, well they weren't so lucky...
Also it goes for the same for rims..The lock lug is just for the average thieves as well. I had a pair of Boyds 5 Timeless on my old truck. $750 a rim. Boyd told me don't even put the lock lug on he said the pros can get them with a ordinary old socket..So i never did & no body bothered them. He said without a lock lug they must be fakes.....Nope they were the last forged aluminum rim he cut in that style...(IE i used to work on American Hot Rod lets just say i didn't pay $715 a rim)

Dropped off my truck this morning, should be done sometime this afternoon. I'm not sure what to connect the auxilary buttons to. I know I can do roll down all windows, pop hood (with extra hardware). ON cars you can add pop trunk, obviously we cant.

Thumbs up

Install done, one issue. the warn away function is not working. You know when someone bumps into your car it's supposed to give you the two little chirps. That doesnt work. The 5701 says the sensitivity is adjustable via the remote, which I tried last night. I set it to most sensitive and was still able to jump into my bed and jump around without a single warning or sound. So I'll have to take it in for them to take a look. Other than that, works great, the range is amazing. I also like how you can leave the truck running without the keys in the ignition then lock the doors. This will come in handy on hot ass days when I have to run into a store quickly. The remote is super thin and very light. It has a key lock function that I activated so that I don't turn on my truck or unlock it unknowingly. Oh and the remote is two way meaning that if your door is opened when it's armed, the key fob will begin flashing and beeping like crazy so that you know somethign's going on. There are numerous additional modules you can install as well. Such as GPS tracking, glass break sensor, radar sensor so if anyone comes within a foot or two of your truck, it'll warn away. Thats just to name a few. Great system.

Okay, just got back from the place that installed the Viper 5701 on my truck. turns out, there is an issue with the shock sensor. SO....I can have them take it out (pay labor), return the alarm to the online store I bought it from (Pay shipping) then have them reinstall a new system (pay labor) just to get this shock sensor to work. So I said F' it and I'm just gonna add the glass break sensor to the alarm system which should cover what I worry about most. I guess the moral of this story is, be careful about what you buy on the net. If I had bought the alarm from this place, they would of replaced the shock sensor at no cost. Since I bought it on the net, it's not covered under waranty.
