Sirius Sportster - Where to locate?

I just bought my crew max and have the sirius radio from my other truck, where is everyone that has one have it installed. I don't like it when it's on the windshield but I can't figure where else to put it. Might have to just get a new radio with sirius in it.

I have a Sportster 4 and I have it in the same place as jpnca. Mine has a dock plate and I put some velcro on the bottom of it and then on the plastic in front of the cup holders. I just stick it down with the velcro. It works pretty good and is not in the way of cups. I stuffed the wires in the little cubby hole behind it. I will take a pic and post it for you.

I am thinking of buying the aftermarket box to make my factory stereo Sirius ready. It costs $125 and it installs inside the dash so there are not wires to fool with except the antenna. Then you just use the stereo controls...no fuss no muss.

Mine is XM and they put it on the dash also near the VIN plate. I do prefer the way GM has theirs factory installed on the roof. I had both together as one, ie Onstar/Verizon and XM.

Codiac,Let me know where you can get the box for the sirius radio and what brand, the dealer and a stereo shop tell me it is over $500. I should have went with the after market audio system with NAV, DVD, CD and Sirius for around $1500 from the dealer.

I had the sportster in my 2000 Tundra and transfered it to the 07 but didn't like the sound quality so I went with an Aftermarket Pioneer with satellite built in as soon as the Metra dash kit came out. Let me tell all of you that haven't figured it out yet, the sound quality is 100000000% better!!!! Do yourselves all a favor and go with an aftermarket system with built in satellite.

Same subscription just call Sirius and let em know what your doing and they will walk you through it. 5 minutes on the phone. You will be thanking me when you hear the sound difference.

Sirius Sportster - Where to Locate?

Hi,

How about this Sirius holder; see it at this link:

Amazon.com: Arkon SR088S 15-Inch Swivel Gooseneck Satellite Radio Mount: Electronics

Anyone have one of these? And here is a link to their other model satellite radio holders:

I ended up buying the sirius hook up for the stock JPL stereo so that the steering wheel controls work and the sound is alot better. I shopped around at some stereo shops and had it installed for less then half the price the dealer was going to install it.

I mounted mine on the windshield right above the Temp./Time/Center speaker thing.

I went direct into the AUX input and ran the wires down through the center speaker cover down and around the driver side to the power and AUX input. I have the antenna on the dash which I am going to move to a different location because I usually have only 1 to 2 bars signal strength.

This unit has a remote control so I don't have to reach to the unit.

Brooooooooo! Get an aftermarket radio with satellite built in, you won't believe the difference in the sound quality!

Pretty soon they will be both together Sirius and XM. Now maybe when I'm on the road I can get Nascar again. Had it the first year on XM.
