Sirius Sat Radio volume not loud

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue with an aftermarket Sirius Radio. I bought a Sportster from Best Buy and had their techs install the radio into my '07 Crewmax. If I am driving down the highway or have my windows down, I usually have to turn the volume all the way up to 45 or 50 on the dial, but when I turn the sat radio off, that same volume level would blow out my eardrums. Does anyone know why the volume seems muted with the sat radio compared to the normal stereo. I've turned the volume meter on the sat radio all the way up, but it hasn't helped. I'm in law enforcement, and my "company" car I've also installed a sirius radio, but did so myself. In the crown vic, there is no difference between the sat or the normal radio volume levels. I am wondering if the schlameels at Best Buy did something wrong. Any feedback would be appreciated.

2007 Silver Crewmax 4x4. Flowmaster 40s, Aries step bars, Weathertech floor mats and wind deflectors, Undercover Tonneau Cover, 3m clear bra, and a leather Pittsburgh Steeler steering wheel cover.

I dont have sat radio in mine set up but yesterday I got a Monster cable for my Iphone to plug into the aux jack. It all works but even with the phone volume all the way up I got to have the radio on like a 40 for reg driving. Quality is good just quiet.

Tampa I have XM and it's the same way. If I put on radio, MP3, CD volume is loud. XM I ahve to turn it up a little more. I rarely go above 33.

Did you find a fix for the volume?

I just installed the TOY-SC1 and a dock unit to plug in my sportster 5, and control it with the factory radio, and it is the same way, the volume needs to be turned much louder then the FM radio. Kinda irritating

I turned off the FM transmitter on the sportster, and that made some differance. The probelm with my setup, in the truck the radio is useless. I have to put in in my car, or in the house to be able to get to the menu. In the truck it just says "Sirius Connect"

The way to cure your volume problems is to dump the satellit remote unit and install an aftermarket system with sat radio built in. I had the same problems until I installed a new unit with built in satellite. Problem solved!!!!!

Never knew this existed. I just read up on it and it only makes sence Fred. Its a mini ampplifier, COOL! I like it. I would say the only draw back is changing the batteries but that's really no big deal, just keep some handy. You should start a thread on this one. Call it "Remote Satellite Radio Weak Sound Solution". You will get some bites for sure Fred.
