Radio replacement

Is there an ecomical replacement head unit that can be purchased that will be able to accept the addition of an aftermark amp. I do not need nav/touch screen cost too much. Just want better sound. I already have (but not installed) polk 651s for all four doors in my DC. Your thoughts. Price under $500.00 less.

I went with a single DIN Pioneer Premier and love it. I did that before I upgraded the speakers and it made a LARGE difference in the quality of sound, even with the factory speakers. After replacing the speakers as well I am very pleased with the sound.
Now if JL would just do 50% off that sub for the DC I would be in good shape......

I've been reading quite a few strings about people not getting quality sound from there truck. I know I am not experienced with sound systems but my truck how Low Med and High output and the bass being stock vibrates the truck pretty well. Are there different options with bass tubes in the center console? My truck sounds like the bass is coming from the center as I am driving.

Ok, here are a couple of shots of my Pioneer. The model is DEH-P580MP, it is a couple years old but has all the features I wanted on it.
Sorry for how dirty the inside is, it has been a couple days since I have cleaned the truck.

You have the stock 6 disc changer stereo right??? I think the Low Med and High you are talking about is the automatic sound control. It senses sound and raises and lowers the volume so when you are on the highway it is louder and when you slow down it gets quieter. My bass is just like any other stereo and does not operate on Low Med High.

I might be wrong but just throwing it out there.

You may be right...I haven't looked on how to turn that feature off yet but it's not on the top of my list yet. So how can you tell if it is the JBS system?

Chris TRD, If you have a JBL system it will state so on the receiver, as well as look under the rear seat and there should be an amp that states JBL. Did you buy your truck from quality imports on beal parkway.

I don't think I have the JBL system because the last I looked there was no amp.

No, I bought mine in Maryland. The deal was better than Quality's and I got 1.9% financingfor $33K out the door. I don't care for Quality too much due to the fact that they wrecked my last Tundra twice while in for warranty work and they left my door panel loose and I ahd to fix it when I got home. The only reason I use them is the fact that they will give me a ride to work on base.

ChrisTRD, H or E, Me too, work at H. when I had my Mazda3 they did not tighten the right front wheel and I just about fell off and then they tried to blame me. The only thing I will let them do will be change the oil becuase when they screw it up its there ass. I ended up going to Palmer Toyota in Mobile AL. Got a great deal, QI would not deal keep telling me I wanted a deal that I would not get any where. When I got my truck I went back the the sales man at QI and he just kept saying "I should been able to sell you that truck". Since they had the exact same truck. But Marland, thats a far piece to go to buy a truck. I thoug I was bad, I searched from Tampa to Mobile.

If your looking for a bug guard restylers on racetrack can get the ERG super, installed for about $70.00. They did mine.

I work on E. I went by restylers yesterday and got prices as well as the dealers and accent tops. I didn't know super trucks went out of business. The dealer is selling the "in seal" window vents for 75 but I will get my bug gaurd from someone else. I found a set of nerf bars at accent tops for 179 and line-x liner for 400 and cover I've been looking for for 400 as well. Now I get to save money to get all this.
