Bose Speakers
What size speakers does the Tundra, DC have in the front and rear doors, Also where can I get the AMP that I would have to use to power them. I have noticed that my stereo does not have the clear and highs, midrange, and lows that my other car had. It had the Bose Speaker system in it.
Your thoughts, I have not heard the JBL system, I not sure what would be cheaper to get the sound I want. I do not try to blow my ears out just like good crisp and clear sound when I want it, you know the kind you get when you play Bon Jovi, Midnight Train or Aerosmith.

I believe the the fronts are 6x9's and the rears are 6.5 inch speakers. I am wanting to upgrade as well so you should be able to find some good 6x9's that would sound alot better than the stockers. I have heard peolpe say that the stockers are really cheap. The one issue that I am trying to resolve is a good location to mount the amplifier. Do you have any ideas on where to mount the amp yet?

I just put an Alpine in mine. Always have been happy with Alpine. JL amp and 2 JL 8 subs. Went with focal cross overs for the speakers. Cost about $3000 but well worth it. I'm hearing things in the songs I never thought possible almost too much to take in.

So are you saying there is enough room to unbolt the rear seat and mount the amp behind the seat and bolt it back in or just mount it as far back as possible under the seat? If there is enough room to go behind the seat that would be great as I would hate to mount the amp somewhere where it can be damaged, I went through that once before when someone threw something into an amp I had mounted in a 4Runner. Thanks and if you have any pics that would be great!

One other question, Where did you get your stereo and how does the filler panel look? Decent quality? How does it match the rest of the dash? I know Crutchfield sells the filler panel for our trucks.

ZMAN yeah i just bought two rockford fasgate two channel amps..(buying two was cheaper, crutchfield had a deal, plus i like the amps had them before) I checked & i plan on mounting them on the wall behind the rear seat i put my hand up there and there is enough space to mount in on the back wall..I will mount them as low as i can but the top may go up behind the seat a little. Should be enough space for air. For me it is important to keep as much under the seat storage (plus it will be harder for theft)..I plan on making a sub box that fits in the middle of the storage box so i can keep storage on both sides. I also bought a head unit (From Crutchfield) & the filler panel is nice but a matte finish, but i did find a glossy one on ebay..I haven't installed it but you can find them..

I had a company called sound advice do the install. The alpine looks awesone in it. basicly a little cubby hole above the reciever. Looks clean. I wasn't sure how it would look but I am very pleased! I send a pic of thathat too when I get back to town. |
