Good to hear you both got it turned on .
That should be turned on when they prep the vehicles at the dealership .
Check tire pressures
Fluids
Interior
Oh and the Alarm .
When I bought mine they tried to say the same as everyone else and after driving over 500 miles to get my truck , I had the instructions in one hand and my check in the other.

I noticed that after I disconnected the negative on my battery to install my intake, then when I reconnected it and locked my doors, that now the red truck flashes. It did not do that before...

I'm glad I found this thread when I did. My dealership quoted me $299 for a "Pursuit alarm that will work with my key fob". Not knowing the truck had an alarm I agreed. They haven't installed the alarm yet, so I'm planning to go to the dealership tomorrow and ask them why they are charing me $300 for an aftermarket alarm instead of turning on the built in OEM alarm. Hopefully I can get my $300 put towards some step boards or something.

Fortunately I haven't even received, let alone submitted, my survey yet.

Be persistant but dont be an ass. I had to get the customer service manager involved to get this done.

Yeah I don't plan to be a prick about it. The sales person I worked with said she was new with Toyota when she was explaining why she didn't know a Tundra grade from a SR5, and from the stories in this thread, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they just didn't know about it.

I went over my sales information last night and I paid about $1500 for my options, which were the after market alarm and the 3" leveling kit. I don't begrude someone their profit, but I'd prefer they made the profit by me buying something I didn't already have. I'm going to ask them to clarify how much they charged me for the alarm and how much for the lift and THEN ask them to apply the Pursuit alarm price to a set of running boards instead and turn on the OEM alarm.

They told me to give them the chance to fix problems before I filled out the survey, so here's their chance.

At the dealership now. They are putting in a request for a check to be cut ($400) to refund me the cost of the aftermarket alarm, and I am coming back this afternoon for them to turn the OEM alarm on. I was going to just put the $400 towards the Tundra Stepboards and pay the difference, but they wanted $795 for the steps so I am gonna just take the $400 check and start shopping for aftermarket steprails.

Thanks for the great info guys. Ya saved me from making a $400 mistake.

My alarm works like a champ, and while the sales people didn't know about the built in alarm the service manager seemed to know. I told him I had the Immobilizer on an 08 CrewMax SR5 and he said, "Ok, we'll get it done for ya." Even did the open window demo when it was done.

Hello everyone. My brother just purchased a 2008 Tundra 4x4 SR5 CM TRD in Black today. The finance guy charged him $450 for the so called "Top of the Line" alarm with kill switch and shock sensor scheduled to be installed tomorrow. I told my brother when he got home that $450 for the alarm was expensive for only that 2 options. I had him call the finance guy back to cancel the alarm and apply the $450 towards the down payment. He said it couldn't be done and so my brother told him he was going to return the truck. The guy transfer him to the GM who told him to come and redo the contract.

THEN I read this discussion. DAMN GREEDY BASTARD trying to rip off my brother $450 for something that was already installed or something I can get for a better price on the aftermarket. Thanks guys for the knowledge. Where can I get the instructions to turn on the alarm? I have a friend who is a Toyota Tech.

Nevermind. I found the links, but thanks for all the information. I will let you know what my Toyota Tech guys says tomorrow.
