One of the best solutions for this problem is to install an aftermarket unit. I had that problem using the aux input with my IPod and the Sportster satellite radio. Upgrade guys!
That aux input is junk!

If you are really into your sound and music I would strongly suggest upgrading to an aftermarket radio. I'm glad I did! I've got cranking sound, ipod at the touch of a 7" touch screen, blue tooth, TV,DVD, NAV, you name it! I can even play videos from my 30 gig video Ipod! If not check out Walleygator's post #12. Lots of good stuff out there! Good luck!

Are you guys having problems with the auxiliary jack using the regular factory stereo or the upgraded JBL system that costs approximately $1,000? I'm just curious because I am thinking about getting the JBL system, but a big determining factor is how the jack works. The Toyota dealer in Louisiana told me that because of the amp on the JBL system that the aux. jack would work significantly better. Does anyone know about this?

I have the JBL system and used my aux input today for the first time, it it was very loud.
I used it with Ipod Shuffle. I am using a thicker cable than some I have seen before, so not sure if that helps out.

I have the factory JBL system as well. I use the AUX input about 90% of the time. I use it with my XM Inno. I do have to turn the volume slightly louder that using the CD or radio, but It sounds good to me. I think I put it at 35, maybe 40 if I want it real loud with the windows down.
The only thing that bothers me is a slight buzzing sound that occurs when I am in AUX mode and I accelerate. The louder the radio, the more the buzzing. But it doesn't bother me much.

Aux input volume to low?
Hi,
I can't afford even to consider changing radios in my 2008 Tundra. When I used my aux outlet with my Sirius Sportster 5, I had to crank the radio volume up to 41, 42, 43 to listen to my country music. I took a chance and purchased the Boosteroo Revolution and using it, I now drop my volume level down to the high 20s. Sound quality is just the same as before the Boosteroo addition. Just thought I'd throw this out there as an alternative to spending big bucks for a replacement radio. FredSG
