Anyone with experience?

With Supercrew Sound pre-fab enclosures?

SuperCrewSound - Toyota Tundra Double Cab 07 Dual Subwoofer Enclosure

I am debating on whether I want to fabricate my own box or if I want to just buy one. I can do all the fiberglass and wood work myself, so that part doesn't bother me. I just don't know if I want to when i can buy something for only $150.00. The only difference is these guys don't fiberglass so the fit won't be perfect in my opinion.

Anyone that has used these boxes or has an opinion on the subject I'd appreciate your input. I know suspension and performance but stereo/electronics are beyond me.

If you're comfortable doing the fab work yourself...I say go for it. Like you said, a custom fit isn't going to be possible with a prefab box...change the specs a little bit and make that thing custom. I think you'll be more pleased with the result...although, it may take a little extra work. You should have no problem doing this for under $150.

I've had two dodge crew cabs and did all the work myself. Both turned out pretty well...I'll try to dig up some pictures for you. I would be doing this on my new Tundra, but it came with the JBL audio...and sub behind the rear seat...so I'll wait till I blow those out and start over.

What kind of system are you looking to install?

I don't want something crazy. My last truck had a stereo that was way overkill. I completely gutted the interior and installed 4 racing seats with a custom wood/fiberglass console that I built myself that went from the dash to the back wall. It housed two 10's and a 15 and 2 7 inch TV's. And the amps were mounted in between the drivers and passengers chairs. It looked good but I don't want to do that again.

I'm confident I can handle the construction part, my only concern is making sure I do the calculations for the airspace properly. I'm not very good with electronics and stereos. I'll have someone else do the wiring for me.

I'm looking at the Kenwood 7" touch screen in-dash. I'm not sure what subs will fit under the rear seat of my double cab. There is only about six inches between the bottom of the seat and the floorboard.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There was a post recently on Tundra Solutions that had pretty positive things to say about those boxes and the quality of the workmanship.

I know a few people have made their own boxes using the MDF board and they have to shim the rear seat to keep it from touching the woofer. so if your good with glass I would build your own with glass since glass is alot thinner then wood you should have no problems with fitting a shallow sub back there, and you probally wouldnt have to shim the seats either.

you should always match your sub! with the right box for the best sound. Thats the first step i think in a system
