It's fun to see the many ways people personalize their trucks. I understand the appeal of the letter accents but it's not for me. I'm pulled more in the direction of debadging altogether. I've spent over 7K in upgrade/mods and not one bit has been cosmetic.
No, I wouldn't add those but it's a matter of personal opinion. If you like them, go for it. If my TRDP ever comes in, I'm going to completely de-badge it.
I put in the tail gate "TUNDRA" letter inserts, the nice ones from Toyota that are raised and not the cheapos from ebay. They compliment the black "4x4" on the left side of the tail gate. I kept the bed sides as is.
I thought about it on my CrewMax but I like the more subtle look. I don't think it looks bad at all but I prefer the 99% Cement with little bits of black. Plus, I like it when a Ford owner walks up to look at the truck and then start rubbing their hands over the bed stamping...
As a complete outsider I don't like the embossing at all. I'm not loking to buy a Pro and have already been quoted on having the 'Tundra" taken out of the tailgate and repainted and UV cleared. Not cheap unfortunately.
I liked the stamped tailgate and bed sides because it's and enhancement. I also honk that on your white truck the letter look good and it's cheap enough to do that you can remove later if YOU don't like it.
I definitely wouldn't pay to have them filled in at a body shop.
no makes it look like a cheap sticker (fake pro) from 10 feet away. up close looks good but again not my style. if i could i would have the tailgate smoothed out with no tundra stamp.
Can you show a few pics of your truck? I love the sig pic... That blackout look is sweet! I would have done it to my truck already, however being supercharged, I don't plan to keep it past 100K mi and don't want to sink the $$
Happy to see there aren't many negative comments.
As a former president of a car club, I like to see that.
If we all liked the same things on our trucks and cars, the car makers would include them, and we would have pretty boring cars and trucks.
I don't have a TRD, but have considered the inserts for Tundra on the tailgate.
