-Remove the driver's scuff plate
-Remove the left hand kick plate
-At the top of the panel you should find the plug. Mine was wrapped up pretty good to keep it from rattling. If i remember correctly, it also had a "dummy plug" installed in the harness.

Hope this helps.

I put mine right in the slot under the tow/haul button.

It's really easy to adjust the brakes that way.

I took the scuff plate off and the kick plate But I can't figure out which wires are what... (boy do I feel stupid) Any help would be greatly appreciated... I purchased a Drawtite Activator today and am totally lost... I guess I could take it to some kind of shop to get put in but I would love to do this myself...

Mine was against the left side, kind of forward. Had one wrap of electrical tape around the plug. Very difficult to find. They tucked it up there pretty good. I put mine a little higher than the picture above, just under those switches.

It took me forever to find. It's buried in all those other wires wrapped with tape and the dummy plug makes it look like your not looking at the right one. I pulled on each set of wires looking close to find the tape holding it in. I mounted it between the steering wheel and the console on the 45 degree slant. Very easy for me to reach espescially since I use it so much every day hauling FEMA trailers.

Personally, if I were you, I'd take back that controller and buy a Prodigy. It's seriously one of the best aftermarket brake controllers on the market. Set it and forget it. Toyota even offers it as an accessory in their catalog. And the little wiring harness they give you with the truck has a direct color-to-color match on the Prodigy. I hooked mine up in 15 minutes.

I located mine to the right of the steering column and positioned it so I could see the readout through the steering wheel as I'm driving. I can also easily reach the control to apply emergency breaking power via the lever at the bottom of the unit if it ever became necessay. (See pictures)

This location doesn't hit my knee and I'm 6'1" with long legs. Even with the seat all the way up, which I'd never be driving in that position anyway, it still doesn't hit my knee.

Good info here. I have to head over to the local trailer place today. Prodigy is what a friend recommended. I assume the trailer place will also tell me if I need to get a drop for a car hauler.

Thanks for that info. I just switched to a Tundra and was worried the controller would hit at that location. Seems lower than the Tatan was. You are right about the Prodigy!

This is where I put mine too. Although, I'm not as cool as you: I don't have a Prodigy; I have the Voyager.
