My 07 Tundra 4WD DC 5.7ltre TRD with dual exhaust and Airraid cold air intake with tires at 38-40psi-- Summer=16.5mpg city to 20.5mpg hwy Winter=12.5mpg city to 17.5mpg hwy, towing 6,000lbs=8.5mpg to 10.5mpg. I drive 60mi/day to work and back. Total miles a year is about 25,000mi. I check gas mileage on everything I drive from cars to snowmobiles. All numbers are done by calculator and tank as full as I can get it. Computer is only about 2-tenths different. Out of the three SUV/Trucks I have owned, the tundra has the best overall gas mileage and by far highest towing capacity. It is the biggest and most HP of any vehicle I have owned. Temps and brand of fuels do make a difference in mpg. I am very please with all aspects of the tundra.

1st Post... Awesome!!!
Hi Guys,
1st post but I’ve been surfing the forum for a while now. Just bought an 08Super White CM SR5 5.7L with flow masters and 6-inch lift on 35's; she's a beaut! I've put about 400 miles on her and I’ve noticed that I’m only averaging about 9 miles per gallon. Don't get me wrong I didn't buy her to conserve gas. I've had a viper SRT10, every version of the Cadillac Escalade, and a 23 footer 440 HP dual engine speed boat, so I’m all about gas consumption, but to buy a Toyo with worse gas mileage then my 06 Hummer is funny!!! I'm going to install a TRD CAI next week so I’m hoping for slightly better mileage. Anyone else with a 6-inch lift experiencing similar gas mileage? Maybe I just need to stop racing every truck I come across in Northern Cali... /Gene |

I have a 6in lift and 33.7 in tires and I noticed that the computer said I had gotten 11 mpg. I did it the old fashioned way and it came out to be almost 14 mpg. I think tire size will affect the computer readings on this.

I have filled up twice so far and I put alittle over 21 gal. (21.3) in both times and I'm getting 300 mi. between fills. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the tanks are 26 gal. tanks so you can probably drive for awhile on E if you want

Have about 2600 miles on mine and Im getting anywhere from 9.6 - 10.1 mpg. Not sure why mine seems to be so low? I have a 6" lift, 20's on 35's, TRD dual exhast and TRD CAI. Any ideas? I do notice black carbon at the tips of my tailpipes which i would have thought would burn cleaner.

I did take a road trip on the highway last week. I started averaging 19.3 mpg on my onboard computer and as I kept driving the average mpg went down and down as I kept driving. After 200 miles I was averaging about 16-17 and that was only highway driving. Trust me, I know the mpg on this truck wont match to a compact car, but when it say I should get 15-19, I get frustrated when it is SOOOO much lower. I have about 2100 miles on my truck. Does MPG get better as more miles are put on? |

I have a 2w DC 4.7L , i get around 17.5 on highway, I can get over 18 if I drove around 55-65, which is imposible here in Miami, with everyone passing you like crazy.
in the city I get on average like 14.4, could get a bit better but I usually have to stop a lot of times, bank, store, drive trhru, and everyday stuff to do + traffic at rush hours, etc. I have 1200 miles on my truck and I am very satisfied. |

Average 16 city, and on long road trips (600 mile last trip) I averaged 23.8 highway. This is great considering the huge V8 and being a full size truck. Sad part is its getting better gas mileage than my 1993 Ford Ranger.

I run the cheap 87 octane in WI and the best unloaded highway mileage I've gotten has been high 17's running between 70 & 80 mph. not bad. I regularly average low 17's/ high 16's with a 4wheeler in the bed and a 4wheeler behind on a trailer running about 60 mph & going through little crappy towns and the occasional "pass" up to 80 or 90 mph! My MPG sucked until I got 6k or so on the odometer. I'm at 13k now. Oh yean, I have an 07 DC 5.7

I now have 36,000mi on my 07 SR5 Tundra 5.7ltre. Gas mileage for city driving has been around 16mpg(summer) & highway around 18mpg(70mph)
highway at 55mph has been near 20mpg. Towing has been 10mpg to 13mpg depending on weight and type of trailers. Most friends with Fords and Dodges can't even get 16/17mpg on highway at any speed. City driving there telling me has been 12-14mpg. All of these trucks are bigger gas V-8's. Co-worker bought 07 Chevy diesel and averages over 20mpg on highway empty and 15-18mpg pulling trailer. |
