Towing Lights
Looking for the best way to fix this issue, my tow lights do not work and they always have. I ran a test on the plug to the driver’s side and all looked well and the tester light worked for power and the blinker. I then went to the passenger side and noticed that the plug had one terminal that did have a little corrosion on it and nothing worked on that side. I followed the ground back to the license plate area and tried to re-ground it nothing. What is the best way to make this work again I want to go fishing! Should I just replace that passenger side plug, I already tried cleaning that side and nothing worked. Thanks for the help.......

okay, well can I just bypass the T-connector and solder the wires or do I have to buy a whole new wire harness? Has to be a good easy fix.http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:...g/hoppy-wh.jpg

Ok Thinking I should just add a new female connector and just bypass the first T-Connector I have check everything from the fuses to taking apart every T-connector and cleaning them and removing the drivers side tail light and checking all in their also looks ok- the last owner did splice in to the tail light and add a fuse fo the back topper light but that all checked out. the wires all seemed ok... again any helpful hints would be awsome dont really want to keep striping wires to fix this.......THANKS... http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...g?t=1214938135

Have you tested the wire that the harness plugs into? If they work, then maybe it's just the connections in the plug that went bad. I would solder the connections if the other wires are working.

I just had a similar problem. Your sig. doesn't say what kind of truck you have and you don't say whether it is the flat 4 or the 7 pin if you have the new Tundra.
On my 07, I was not getting a lights on the right side of my trailer while using the flat 4 four. I thought it was the tail light(which is sealed), so I replaced it and it solved nothing. I then started looking more closely at the flat 4 plug on the truck. The 3 female inserts on the plug were loose and eventually fell out and or were attached to the male tailer plugs. Then it was obvious what the problem was. Since I was going fishing the next day, I put a 7 to flat 4 adapter into the 7 pin plug and everything was fine. Now I have to go to the dealer and have them replace the flat 4 plug on the truck. I have probably plugged and unplugged the the trailer using the flat 4 connector 200 times in the last 15 months, so I guess it just wore out.
