Trailer Brake Controller

I installed the Tekonsha Prodigy. The one I purchased came with a pre-wired plug-in. Some people put their brake controller in the middle console but, I've got other things there and since the Prodigy offers manual control at the bottom, it needs to move freely and be easily accessible; I put my controller on the lower dash to the right of the steering wheel. The factory plug-in is behind the kick-panel on the left and mine was covered with black tape making it a bit hard to locate. It also has a wiring adapter that needs to be removed as shown in my pics.

P3 installed

I just installed a P3 into the center console. I tried it right under the tow/haul button but it stuck out too much. I'm not sure if it's longer then the Prodigy but it might be a consideration if you choose one over the other. It looks great in the center console. Almost like it belongs right there and the manual switch on the bottom is reachable and usable.

I drilled a small hole for the wires in the back of the plastic with a dremal and used a coat hanger as a fish. Fished it to the Tow/Haul removable console and then down under the dash and around to the connector. Easy.

Thanks for the pictures of the tow/hual console. I used a small screw driver right at the top where the hold in tabs were. Popped right out. Just don't put too much pressure and break the hold tabs.

I mounted it to the right of the steering colum. No two bars showing. Have towed about 6,000 trouble free miles with it that way.
