Smile Heavy Tow

Drove out to Illinois 2 weeks ago to pick up a 35' Fountain Boat...I was a bit concerned on how I was going to get this boat home since it was weighing in with the trailer around 11,000 lbs..What a long ride on one road (going).. I kept note on my MPG's..averaging around 70 mph MPG were around 17.5-18.5. I guess i lost a little putting that dual cat back exhaust on...but it's worth the sound it makes...

So I finally arrive 13.5 hours...later...Backed up to the trailer and lowered the trailer onto the truck.. I did notice a 3-4 inch drop on the tundra...At this point there was nothing i could do about it... So the next day we left for home...

I have owned other trucks before. My last was a F350 Ford turbo deisel..( I rather not comment on that). This Tundra Impressed me so...It towed this 11,000 lb.weight at 70 MPH with no effort.. I didn't even feel it behind me...I averaged 10.5-11.5 MPG..and when I got to those steep hills in Pennsylvania it took them at 55-60 and not one gauge moved off of normal Trans/ water temp. Very Nice ride...

Scared

My husband was scared to take the plung into a Tundra due to the fact we have a 31' travel trailer that weighs 10000 pounds, but after after reading your report don't seem much to worry about. Thanks

I pull a 29 foot Sea Ray cruiser with a tri axle trailer. Boat and trailer weight in at 10,000 and it does just fine.

I pulled my 5x10 VNose trailer this weekend with my Tundra at 70mph and got a 11mpg as well. Only weighs 3500lbs. And this was in flat Florida. Just goes to prove that the wieght actually does not hurt as much as wind resistance...

My T.T bro "need4speed" came to me with a small request the other day and that was to give him a hand posting pics of his new little boat. I had no problem with this due to the fact that some are having problems with uploading pictures for various reasons. After uploading the pic and seeing it myself for the first time I was absolutely blown away!!!! At the risk of this pic winning the "May truck of the month contest", guy's and gal's take a look at need4speed's awsome set up!

No problem at all with the tundra... After 950 miles i had a slight smoke problem with one of the brakes on the trailer as i was trying to stop on a downhill slope...

Man I love those beak boats, what motors does that have in it? I would love to have one but I just can't bring myself to give to the Cig to get one.
I am curious to see what happens with them (Fountain) now that Reggis has purchased Baja, there should be some interesting things come of that.
