Tow Mirror Swap

Anyone know of a good thread that has instructions on swapping standard mirrors with tow mirrors?

There is but i'd rather give you instructions here instead of looking for it. I just did this about a month ago, easiest "mod" to date.

1. remove screws from door handle. One is located under the felt piece of fabric in the arm rest. The other is behind the black plastic cap behind the actual door handle that you open to release the door. Once those two screws are out, just start popping out the door panel from the bottom up. There is a black plastic clip close to where the mirror goes that will be difficult to pop out. Take a small phillups and push in the center of the clip and it should release easily.
2. Once all the clips are out, just let the door panel hang there, it'll be okay, no need to disconnect all the wires.

3. remove that small triangular piece of plastic right where the mirror goes.

4. using a 10mm socket, or nut driver, remove the 3 nuts that hold the mirror in place. Be very careful not to drop the nuts into the door.

5. there is a small plastic clip that holds the mirror in place once you remove the nuts. I'm not sure how exactly to take this out so you can re use it, so I just broke it off. It's only there in case the 3 nuts somehow become loose and will hold your mirror in place if this happens. I dont see how in the world that scenario would ever happen.

6. disconnect the wire harness for your mirrors, pop in your new mirrors, connect them then reverse the process. Vua' la.

I was done in less than 30 minutes doing it myself.

Also just a note, if you currently have heated mirrors the tow mirros will be fully functional, if not the power adjust portion will still work but the lights will not light up

My mirrors have the heat icon on them but I don't have a switch for them. I assume the mirror are cabable of heat but mine did not come wired for it.
