yea, I think I will first try Radio Shack to see if they have those slide in tiny pins, if they don't I will just tap in and run a wire up to the front blinkers.

if your truck doesnt have heated mirrors .. you can still buy the tow mirrors, the harness will be the same .. just the heat function will not work
thats what I am thinking because I will never need the heated mirrors here.

I looked into both brand mirrors with shipping to CA I felt that OEM thru toyotasparks.com was the best bet. I have always used OEM on all my Toyotas and have never had any problem with fit and finish. My local dealer can't even come close to prices at toyotasparks.

Well I did it over the weekend. I tryed all combonations and just could only get the top set of LED's to light up. So you have 2 choices eather to use as blinkers or running light. I chose running lights.

1. Take mirror off truck find blue wire and ground to door

2. Green wire needs to run up to front turn lamp

3. Purple wire is running red wire is blinker

this was a real easy mod. If anyone knows how to get lower LED to work let me know. Thanks

1. remove screws from door handle. One is located under the felt piece of fabric in the arm rest. The other is behind the black plastic cap behind the actual door handle that you open to release the door. Once those two screws are out, just start popping out the door panel from the bottom up. There is a black plastic clip close to where the mirror goes that will be difficult to pop out. Take a small phillups and push in the center of the clip and it should release easily.
2. Once all the clips are out, just let the door panel hang there, it'll be okay, no need to disconnect all the wires.

3. remove that small triangular piece of plastic right where the mirror goes.

4. using a 10mm socket, or nut driver, remove the 3 nuts that hold the mirror in place. Be very careful not to drop the nuts into the door.

5. there is a small plastic clip that holds the mirror in place once you remove the nuts. I'm not sure how exactly to take this out so you can re use it, so I just broke it off. It's only there in case the 3 nuts somehow become loose and will hold your mirror in place if this happens. I dont see how in the world that scenario would ever happen.

6. disconnect the wire harness for your mirrors, pop in your new mirrors, connect them then reverse the process. Vua' la.

I was done in less than 30 minutes doing it myself.
Guys, the black plastic piece is an assembly aid. To remove it, slide a small metal tube (I used a glue brush) over it to depress the two tabs. Once the tabs are depressed, you can remove the mirror straight out.
Great site - thanks for the info. New truck last Wednesday! DCAB SR5 5.7 4X4. Thousand miles so far, in 6 days! Joe
