If I saw a truck that I knew came with a tow package and only had an aftermarket hitch I would assume it is in *worse* shape than one that came with a trans cooler and was prewired for a brake controller and lights. That would more likely be the truck that showed signs of an abused transmission and potential electrical gremlins. |

I have a supercharger and yet I dont drag race except on Sundays with little old church ladies with cauliflower hairdo's
I have a 3 inch lift, but dont go off roading. It was more for looks, and to level the truck. It also gives me a better view of traffic ahead. I have a factory tow package and have towed 9000lbs on a properly equipted trailer and hitch. However, I do agree with some of the things you say as far as more wear and tear. If I saw a used truck with a supercharger on it, yes I would be more cautious about buying it. But, if the truck is properly maintained, I dont think it will be worse off than a non supercharged, never towed truck. I am 62 years old, no speeding tickets since I was 17, and hope to change that soon by blowing off a state trooper. Hell, do you know how nerve racking it is to go that long without a ticket, lmao!

towing
Another thing to consider is that the SR5 Double cab comes with a 4.30 gear ratio when it includes the towing package and no "sport look" (painted bumpers) option the other tundras have 4.10 and 373 so if you are going to tow you would definitely would want the towing package so you can get the cooler and the 4.30 gears.

I think the only thing that really affects the ride is probably the TRD package...slight suspension change. Other than that, nothing too noticable. Maybe a small diff b/n rides w/diff engines (weight) and diff size cabs (weight also) I don't see that small weight affecting ride much tho.
