Have towing questions need answers
Ok I am on day three with my new Tundra 5.7 double cab 4x4 with tow package.
In a few weeks I am going to be moving from Texas to Washington. About 2300 miles and I am going to tow my wifes Audi A4 on one of those car carriers from uhaul. The Audi has a GVW 4664lbs. My Tundra has a 6in lift and 33in tires. I need to know what kind of tongue I need to make this trip. I looked at Tractor supply and they had a 6in drop tongue made of solid steel for about 50$ rated for 12,000 lbs. Do you think that is the right one or is it overkill. I am afraid the standard one that is rated at 5,000 lbs is not going to be enough. Also, I am sure that the lift and tires will play a role in my towing. Can someone please break it down for me since I am really green when it comes to towing and such. Thank you in advance. ![]() |
