Have towing questions need answers

Ok I am on day three with my new Tundra 5.7 double cab 4x4 with tow package.

In a few weeks I am going to be moving from Texas to Washington. About 2300 miles and I am going to tow my wifes Audi A4 on one of those car carriers from uhaul. The Audi has a GVW 4664lbs.

My Tundra has a 6in lift and 33in tires. I need to know what kind of tongue I need to make this trip. I looked at Tractor supply and they had a 6in drop tongue made of solid steel for about 50$ rated for 12,000 lbs. Do you think that is the right one or is it overkill. I am afraid the standard one that is rated at 5,000 lbs is not going to be enough. Also, I am sure that the lift and tires will play a role in my towing.

Can someone please break it down for me since I am really green when it comes to towing and such.

Thank you in advance.

The 12000# may be overkill, but it sets you up to tow anything down the road. For $50, it is a good investment. Your tundra will tow 10,000#, so you won't even feel your car behind you. When you are towing, just watch out that you don't get going too fast where the trailer starts swaying back and forth. Have a good trip. Enjoy Fort Lewis. I'm retired AF, but my brother was stationed there a couple of years back. He says it was a great assignment.
