Not yet, looking into doing air bags. That seems to be the way to go.

Thumbs up 24' 5th wheel

My 5.7 2wd tows my 5th wheel fine although I'm considering a rear suspension add on. Been all over Colorado, Az and New Mexico and the power is plenty on all but the steepest grades where I get knocked down to 45 mph. Clearance is no problem and use a Husky slider hitch.

Weight is 8800 lbs loaded. Pin weight is 1200. I just had air bags put on today, anxious for a trip to see how it does.

I have a 33' fifth wheel and my tundra pulled it great the only bad thing is when I have to back up can't really turn too sharp with it; but other than that it does just fine. I can pick up to 65 mph and cruise.

This may not be the place, but.........does anyone want to buy a fifth wheel camper?

I'm going to a TT just because I like it better. More room to me.

From my experience towing with my Tundra, I don't see any problem towing a 5er. I would recomend the 8' bed so the pin is in front of the rear axel, and a suspension enhancement system. The 6.5ft. bed would work but I would not exceed around 8,000lb. pin weight as the pin will be behind the rear axel to get turning clearance. The crew max is definetly out as the pin will be over the rear bumper. I am not worried about the Tundra tranny.I'm confident Toyota did ther homework designing the drive train.

Any fifh wheel hitch must result in the pin weight being on or slightly ahead of the axle. The problem you are alluding too is solved with a sliding hitch. This is standard feature on any hitch used with a standard or short bed truck. There is one specifically designed for the Crew Cab and there are many quite usable on the Double Cab. And, I'm sure you don't mean 8000 lb pin weight. That would exceed the axle GAWR of 4100 lbs so much it would likely break down the truck. I'm sure you were refering to the total trailer weight.
