Tow Package Wiring harness

I have removed the scuff plate and kick plate and have unwrapped one section of wiring that was wrapepd up real good. They are both black connectors, is this the right location? it is on the other side of where all the harnesses plug in. How do I know which one is the dummy plug?

Mine didn't have a dummy plug in it and it was a white connector. It was the only one that didn't have anything plugged into it.

Found it

Alright I found it, it did have a dummy plug in it. I purchased the TOyota replacement harness that is a direct connect from the prodigy. IT also has a white ground connector, does this need to be connected to the frame somewhere. All the places I have found are too big to slide the connector over.

Best location for mounting triler brake syncronizer

I now have found the the connector for the trailer brake jumper harness to connect to and now I'm looking for the best place to mount the syncronizer. There seems to be enoungh wire to mount it anywhere along the bottom edge of the dash. What is the advice of those that have already done this?

Don't consider looks as primary...most important is make sure you can get to it, but then not so it is in the way either.

mounting

The following may not be kosher, but here it is:

I was really reluctant to drill holes in the lower dash panel on my brand-new truck. Also. I'm kind of long legged and didn't want to bang my knees on the controller. And, I figured 90% of the miles on this truck will be without a trailer.

I spliced in longer wires to my controller and ran the wires up alongside the left of the dash, stuffed in behind/beside the door weatherseal. Ran the wires up along the side of the A pillar and mounted the controller on the sunvisor, using a velcro strap.

The controller is level-sensitive and I was a little sceptical that the weight of it would pull the visor down and upset the adjustment. Not so. It is very stable and does not fall out of place. However, if needed, I can easily reach up and manually operate the controller.

When I'm done towing, I unstrap the controller, pull the wire bundle and unclip the harness.

Some may think it's Rube Goldberg but it works.
