Should let dad drive more often 18.9mpg with 2000lbs in bed

I let my dad borrow my 07 double cab 5.7 trd yesterday to haul 1800lbs of flooring from baton rouge to Venice La. (about 150 miles) I know the sticker says 1500 or so lbs max with my tires. Anyway he averaged 18.9 miles per gallon on the way down. The bed was atleast 1 foot lower than normal with all that weight. My father drives the speed limit and he may have even driven a little slower. There was little traffic, but I was very impressed with the load hauling capacity and the mpg. I wonder if the lower bed had any significant areo dynamic effect? Just thought I'd share that.

I would think the "slower" foot has more to do with it than the "lower" foot.

So in order to get better fuel economy you should overload the pickup bed. LOL. Actually its a truck so use it for the purpose it was built for, that's what I've always thought, why have a truck if your not going to use it for the purpose its built for.

I can't wait to get mine.
