Hi,
I have the new Hellwig Toyota Tundra 2500 lb Helper Springs installed on my 2011 Tundra DBL Cab TRD 4x4. I purchased them from Leaf Springs, Helper Springs and Suspension Parts | SD Truck Springs.

Overall, I'm pleased with them and SDTruckSprings and have nothing negative to say.

Last weekend I loaded up about 2 1/2 yards of damp mulch. I estimate the weight to be about 1600 LBS. The truck sat level with this load. I also pumped up my rear tires to 42 LBs. I drove around with the load and the truck handled much better with the helper springs. I took a highway onramp that was basically a 270 degree turn with the load; there was very little if any roll. I drove over a couple of speed tables as well and the truck did not bottom out.

Without the weight, the truck sits a about 1 inch higher in the rear and rides a bit stiffer--feels more like a truck :)

I'm glad I added this mod; it makes the truck feel more capable.
I'll be clear about one thing: this doesn't mean I'm going to load up 2500 lbs.

These springs definitely make the truck handle much, much better with weight and drastically reduce the sag when loaded up.

Side note: when sitting at a red light with the load and next to a BMW M3 Convertible, I made the M3 work to the next light >:D

Thanks. I did consider air bags, but I wanted something that didn't require much maintenance. Granted, adjusting them is not nearly as convenient as air bags, but I don't mind.

I came across those too. The design looks like it produces a nicer ride than helper springs do, but the price is why I did go with them.

Also, the helpers I had installed added about 3/4 inch to the rear. I checked another Tundra today, same year and package as mine, and I sat about 3/4 inch higher.

If someone decides to go with the Hellwig 2500 LBs helper springs, layout all the parts before installation! The driver's side uses a different u-bolt arrangement/orientation than the passenger side for the front mounted one.
