Question Repercussions from towing with under 100miles?

Hi All, one of my friends just bought the tundra 5.7L and towed his 6k lb boat the next day. Does anyone know if he could end up with engine/trans problems?

George,

I would imagine as long as he alternated the RPM's for engine break in every once in a while he'd be fine. The tranny should not be an issue.

I drive 30 miles each way to work, I'll be happy to break in a truck for towing

My dad always told me, its like stretching before you workout...it's not needed most of the time, just a good idea. Unless your friend was getting after it on the throttle, It should be fine.
