Towing/4x8 trailer, w/motorcyle in the back

Hey fellas,

I think I may have a problem!! Im moving to GA from WA in the middle of October. Is it possible for me to tow the 4x8 trailer from Uhaul with my tail gate down because my motorcyle will be in the back of my Crewmax.

Sigh!

I think it would depend on how long the tongue in on the trailer

I had to remove the tounge jack once it was mounted or the handle hit mid center of the gate, I was able to use a drop down hitch to get around this but if your truck is still stock height this may not work and may cause the trailer to drop to low in the front.

I am not sure how much your motorcycle hangs on the tail gate, but what about removing the tailgate?

Also remember to take the weight of your motorcycle into consideration.

Your truck will loose height when your motorcycle is in the back, depending on how big your motorcycle is.

Just a thought....

Or get a bigger trailer to put the bike and all in it...plenty of towing power!!

You know I just saw a Titan towing a uhaul trailer with the bike in the back with the bed down. I asked him if he had any issues and said none. but the tow pin tow seemed low but it worked...

You can also get a longer receiver hitch. I have one for my motor home that I built myself. I think you can get them in 18 & 24 inches.
