lower control arm replacement

I need to replace my left lower control arm and I noticed that on the inside of both frame mounting points that there is an oblonged washer with hash marks on it, are these set at a specific point. Can I just mark them and put them back in the same spot or is there more to it than that.

What happened to it? I would say marking it and tightening it up to the proper torque should be fine....

there's more to it than that,
if the replacement arm is absolutely identical then it should work fine but odds are it's going to a little different so an alignment is in your near future .

isn't the ball joint removable from the lower arm?
i mean it's bolted on so it should be removable.

my bad.brain fart here!
the ball joint is pressed in from the bottom and bolts to the spindle bracket.
you're right.
did you look into a replacement boot only?
NAPA used to have a decent selection a few years back.
