New Shocks Old Coils?

So I see how popular the 5100's are but the thought of putting new parts with old parts, when they heavily rely on each other, seems counter intuitive.

I have a 2013 CrewMax with 45k miles on it. At what point would I need to get new coils?

Wrapping new 5100s in original used coils doesn't sit right in my head. Someone please straighten me out!

That's how most people do it. When I got 5100's for my Tacoma , I got them from Toytec and got them to set them up for me with 650# Eibach springs. I was very happy with that set up.

Would you replace your rear leaf springs when you replace rear shocks?

Could last much longer than shocks. So not necessary at 45k miles in my opinion. There are plenty of people on the road with 100k + miles on. Original suspension. Not saying I could do that but they do.

Unless the springs are broken, they are good.
