Just picked up my TRD pro, can I fit King 3.0 coilovers up front? Any experience with those and any other supporting mods up front? I'm new to the Toyota game completely so I have no idea about vendors and most reputable companies to buy from/use lol. Hook me up folks.
You can fit 3.0 secondary shocks but not 3.0 coil overs. Talk to Keith from Dirty Deeds Industries. He's a member/vendor on here and an all around good guy.
Thanks for the mention @Spankdog !! @qtx , plz feel free to give me a call with specific questions. I've built a ton of Tundra's. And if I haven't seen it one of my friends has and I'll ask em for help
I put kings coil overs up front along with light racing UCAs on my 2014 tundra. I bought them from Keith and he was very helpful with the setup. I also did kings in the rear with coach builder shackles.
So I have a TRD OFF-ROAD 4x4. And from what I gather, it's the same height as the TRD PRO in the rear, but 2" shorter in the front since it's not leveled at the factory. Does anyone know how much taller a King OEM shock/coil over replacement set would be if set at 3"? Is it a 1" in the rear higher, and 3" in the front then what I have now? Or 3" taller then what I have now?
Definitely interested in pics. If you have the time, could you give me a call? It's not supposed to end up front high at the settings that I send em out with. I'm interested in as much info as possible
Here is some pics from after the Kings install plus the shackles to level it out. Not sure why the rear shock picture rotated. I'm running 275/70/18 Toyo Open Country AT II.
Our little one was born last week so I haven't even pulled the truck out of the garage. I will try to pull it out tomorrow and snap a few more pictures.
I have seen it said time and time again that it takes about 3 inches to level. I don't understand why that is. Mine was level at 2" up front. I have about 2 1/2 up front now and going to add about 3/4 to the rear.
I agree with you that 2.0 would have been enough to level the truck. I was recommended 3.0 up front to level the truck out and I ran with it since I haven't leveled a tundra before. As you saw in the one picture the front end ended up to be about an 1 inch higher than the rear. I fixed the problem with coach builder shackles. I'm not disappointed that I went with 3.0 up front but again, 2.0 would have leveled it nicely.
