I'm getting down to the nitty gritty about getting a lift.. I wanted to get peoples opinions about good, price-conscience, options in that size.. I won't be doing any hardcore wheeling so no coilovers..
1. Readylift- the CV angles scare me
2. ProComp 4- good lift, little pricey
3. OME 614- maybe pushing it to be 4 inches
4. Zone 5 inch- haven't really considered it but I know they have quality stuff
5. Rough Country- haven't heard a lot
Any other ones I don't have??
I will probably end up getting 18's and plan to run 35x12.50's or a 305/70r18..
I know at some point you have to "pay to play," I'm just trying to be as mindful with my purchase as possible.. Too many other goodies to get lol.. Thanks for any help!!
Better is subjective.
I only have experience with the Skyjacker lift struts in my truck, but 614's should be stiffer but more controlled than stock.
Stiffer sidewalls like E rated tires will also stiffen up the ride.
I think the basic Fabtech kit and the Pro comp should ride similar to stock, but the upgraded fabtech kit with Dirtlogic coilovers would ride different also likely stiffer but more controlled.
You will love the OME option. I look at the OME kit as suspension upgrade rather than a lift. The lift you get is an added bonus. I have 614 with aal in the rear and the ride is is actually pretty good. I think it's comparable to the stock TRD package (probably slightly better in more controlled sort of way).
I don't go off road either, but I no longer cringe when I go over a huge pot hole or a curb (it's difficult to avoid them in my area).
I guess a lot of this depends on wheel and tire size... I found a set of the 5 star limited wheels for about $350, so I may end up getting the Toyo Xtremes in a 295/65r20. I just need to go ahead and get something, I'm getting tired of thinking about it lol

Make sure whatever lift you go with, that the backspacing for those Ltd Wheels work with the lift.
If they conflict then you might be able to add wheel spacers to clear. If you're going to that much trouble I'd just get aftermarket wheels though.
Lot's of guys do that.
Like I said previously, personally I'd do the OME's since you can pay an extra $100 and get pre-assembled struts for the front and they don't use the c-clips like the 5100's.
If for whatever reason you needed to go back to stock you would just swap the strut assemblies with no disassembly or (need for this during the initial install).
I have the 5 inch Zone on mine and i love it. Its made by the same company that makes bds. I wanted the 7 inch BDS w/ Coil overs but wasn't in the budget at the time. No complaints with the Zone at all though. I've ran 20x9 w/ +18mm and 0mm offsett and both worked great. Minor trimming on the mud flap but that took me 2 seconds to trim. Both were with 35x125020 MTs.
just want to bump this and say to save some $$$$ I'm probably going to go with an 18 instead of a 20. Any other recommendations??? Essentially, I'd like to spend close to $2500 (if not less) on the set up (wheels, tires, lift, plus install)
