ok guys i have a 2012 4x4 sr5 crewmax just got my lift done! about 3 weeks ago i love how it came out... but my dad has the same tundra beside a lift its all stock an we got a tape measure out an for thee same point on our trucks i was only 7 inch diff.... wait for it lol i know i got a 7 inch lift but... i put 35x12.50r20's so shouldnt that make me even taller? i think the stock tires are just 31 r 32 so i should be like a inch r 2 taller over a stock tundra. rite??? an my brake light, an abs an traction control. lights are on which aint a big deal since i like the traction control off but the abs an brake light would be nice if i could get them to work an go off.. i have read that the abs wire could been cut somewhere. Or the speed senser bad? are the truck is to lever r the rear end of the truck mite be higher then the front i just dont know yet.
thanks guys
jason

The brake light and ABS light are from a sensor being broken or a wire being cut during installation. Someone that knows more about it will chime in soon.
As for the height- what is your fender height now? Did you install or have a shop do it?
hey i had a shop install the lift. i had them look over the abs wires but they said they didnt see anything
we measure from the ground to the bottom of the drive rear door handle it was rite at 7 inch diff. how can i tell if they installed the wrong lift? like the 4.5 lift instand of the 7inch lift? just look at the rear blocks? which they would be 4 inch on a 7 inch lift rite?

The rear blocks should be either a 3" block for a 4.5" lift or a 4" block for the 7" lift.
While the truck is sitting level take measurements from the ground to the top of your fender well. 5" at the door handle sounds about right thought.
If you really have only about 5" of actual lift I suspect that the preload shims were left out. There is a link to my build log in my signature and pics of the shims in it. Those shims are pretty much the only difference on the front end between the BDS 4.5" and 7" lifts.
I'm sure you wonder how a 7" lift would probably measure about 5" at the door- lift height is typically measure from the front fender. Since the front sits lower than the rear the rear it gets raised more than the rear. If the rear is raised 4" and the front 7" anything measured between those points would be somewhere between 4-7"
thanks for the info ill go see how high the front fender is an get back at ya

It's prob a 7" lift.. the 4.5 looks quite a bit smaller than the one in your picture.. Mind you, i agree, their 7 inch lift isn't quite a 7 inch lift.. I've got the same one, and I scratch my head when I park beside a stock tundra.. sucks..
As for your abs.. does your 4x4 work?

I don't have anything to add to the OP's issue but I have a question on the previous post. Are you serious that you have a BDS 7" lift installed and when lined up against a stock tundra your truck doesn't look any higher? I don't see how this is possible but I'm interested in the responses.
That picture looks like a 7" lift. I am getting hopefully the shims and shackles in the spring....I hope it will look like this...I find that my 5" lift seemed to settle a lot

I put a 6 inch lift on a Chevy Avalanche a few years ago and had the same problem with the ABS light. The problem was traced to a "stretched Wire", How they found it I don't know, but it did get fixed.
Ok guys I get it measured today. The fender flares on tho 44 1/2 inch This sound ride?
