Front end noise

Anytime when I have the steering wheel cranked all the way to the left there is metal on metal noise coming from what I think is the right front. Its the same sort of noise as like a dust shield rubbing on a brake rotor. I dont see anything that looks like its rubbing or coming into contact with anything. Ideas on what to look for?

Did you get bigger tires? Rubbing on the skidplate?

Nope stock tires still.

There is a stop that needs to be greased. It's a convexed area on the knuckle that rubs a stop on the control arm. Grease both sides.

I found a pic in my lowering kit install thread that kinda shows it...

Is that just the steer stop?

I had a noise like that which ended up being my anti-sway bar. I just removed it.

Or the brake backing plates, when they are off just a little bit they will squeal only when turning

Yes. Toyota has used them for years and they make a grunt/grind/scrape noise if you articulate the suspension even a little while at full lock.

Like Nate mentioned, backing plates are another good place to look.

Mine sounds like it's coming from the back of the truck. Just got a 7" BDS lift. I have no idea what it is but will take to shop for inspection tomorrow

How'd it go? I'd check the U-bolts first, then the springs. The rear springs rust between the leaves and squeak.
