Leather in Limited Models....great or aftermarket preferred?

Look at a 2017 Crew 4X4, SR5, TRD

Colors I'm considering are between White, Silver, Magnetic, and Quicksand.

Found a Quicksand Limited with black leather.

Is the Toyota leather of high quality and as comfy as cloth seats? I live in SoCal desert area so it gets hot in summer.

What is lost without the SR5 package? Can the SR5 Package be ordered with Limited?

Really would like a sunroof, but do'n want to go over $45K MSRP and that is about what the Limited 4x4s go for?

Thoughts on colors I am considering?

Thanks!

There is not an SR5 "package". SR5 is a trim level, right below the Limited trim.

There is an SR5 "upgrade package" which among other things changes the standard SR5 front bench seat to buckets. Everything on that package is already standard with the Limited trim level.

Thx Azblue

Now, what about the leather?

Hate to pay the $3K for the limited for stuff I will eventually change out.....mirrors to tow mirrors, grill to TRD Pro grill.

Does NOT have the Limited Luxury package

What else do I get for $3K besides leather?

Most of the limiteds in my area come with other upgrades that I like. The moon roof being one that would be impractical to do later.
I am certainly not in love with the leather in the limited model, I never liked black leather anyway but I don't care enough to change it.

This model does not have the sunroof which would have been great.

Never had Toyo leather so not sure of quality over the cloth which I know is very good.

It is a Limited with TRD and a plastic bedliner and that's it.

I guess it may have Entune with NAV (if that's included with Limited) but that's not something I would order.

I found the leather in my 2010 limited to be just ok, not bad but not great either , felt kinda plasticy. Not sure if that changed in 2014 when they redid them

The leather in my platinum is another story, very high quality, same as a Lexus LS Toyota said, fwiw.

If u like chrome and need a sunroof get the limited.

If you don't have to have a sunroof, get the SR5 and choose the exact leather you want. It's all going to wear. First in the driver's lower left seat bolster.

We went aftermarket and added heated seats for less than the upgrade to the limited. I miss the auto climate control, but the wife hates them and never uses them. Since it's her vehicle we went her route. By going aftermarket though we were able to get options we would have never had from the factory.

Actually according to my local Katskin dealer, Toyota does not use leather, it is actually vinyl. He quoted me around $1500 with heaters in the front seats. Apparently Katskin is the best leather you can get for the money.

unfortunately, the Limited I am looking at does not have a sunroof. It is an option on the Limited. It is Quicksand color so that's why I am interested!!

@Azblue Can you even get the SR5 without the SR5 upgrade package? I tried to build one online and it would not let me delete the SR5 upgrade package.

Also, I would also like to point out that the SR5 upgrade package adds the 38gal tank and replaces the front bench seat with bucket seats.

Dealers don't stock hardly any and Toyota's site only shows what local dealers have in stock.

There are a bunch available at the dealerships in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
