I am looking for a Tundra crewmax 4x4. So far the best price I have gotten is $36,000 otd only options are the next step up on wheels and spray bed liner with bed rails. I am in the upstate and I have checked quite a few dealers that have the truck in stock Greer, Spartanburg, greenwood, Anderson, and so far greenville has been the one with the best price. Is there anywhere around that anyone has had the best luck with in South Carolina or should I go out of state and try near Atlanta . I would really like to get a TRD for $36,000 or less otd but I don't know if its possible. I will be buying as soon as next week and have my own financing. Thanks for any help
Not sure of price, but Dave Edwards in Spartanburg is an awesome place. Fantastic facility and people. Big selection. Can't say enough about what a first rate dealership they have, no matter what brand of car.
Try Milton Rueben in Augusta. Best time to get a Toyota is during Toyotathon in Nov and December. Most dealers will be more willing to pass on savings to you.
I dealt with Dave Edwards Internet manager today. He sent me a price that was about 2 grand more. I texted him and told him that it was higher and he said that usually he is cheaper but thanks for giving him the chance to sell me a truck and have a great day. I was shocked he didn't try to counter offer or ask what the offer was.
I might give Milton Ruben a shot. I can't wait til November I'm wanting to buy next week..
Best price I have seen so far out the door is on sr5 upgrade with bed liner bed rail system with alloy wheels is $36,000 otd. I found a trd discounted from msrp of 42,233 to 36,360 but that is before tax and tag and its on order. They haven't received the vehicle yet it just shows that its on the way.
I had no idea if it was or not. It sounded good but you always feel like you can do better i guess. The trd for $36,300 kinda made me question if a better deal could be had i guess because The truck that was quoted to me for $36,000 otd had a msrp of 41,079 and the other dealer was knocking 6 grand off the trd.
I will be honest I got mine with the VIP too remote start and I would not do that again. I would go get an aftermarket one that works better and allows the truck to stay running when I get in. There is a thread on this here on TT.
Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't happy with talking with their sales dept today im not going there I was just wondering if anyone else locally could touch that. Haven't seen it yet though.
I have bought 2 tundra from Jim Hudson in the last 60 days locally and they work with me well. If you want me to help you work a deal there just PM me your info and we can talk tomorrow.
That's very odd, that sounds more like a dealership admin/processing/dock fee than a sales tax. Sales tax is the price of the vehicle after trade in (if you have a trade it) multiplied by the sales tax percentage rate in the city/County you make the purchase. At least that's how it is in ever corner of the globe I've been in haha. If you folks in South Carolina do it some other way and it works out to only 300 bucks on a $35k ish vehicle purchase then that's just downright wonderful.
That's how it's done here. If you are a state resident and buy a $5,000 car or $90,000 it doesn't matter it's $300 sales tax set fee. I think if you are a out of state resident then you pay whatever your states fee is if you come here but don't hold me to that.
Don't know if anyone in South Carolina is interested but I checked with almost every dealer in the state and a couple in Georgia and Toyota of Greenville couldn't be beat on 2 trucks I looked at. The one I bought I ended up having 3 dealers tell me no thanks that they couldn't touch the deal and wouldn't even try. Top notch service and nice people in my opinion.
They bent over backwards to earn my business then on top of the price they gave that other dealers laughed at they added leather to sell me on the truck. That was the only thing it didn't have that I wanted. When they said they would do that then it was done deal. Jonathan Burke the sales manager there makes things happen if anyone can get it to Texas he will.
That's odd that you're having issues in Texas. I'm up in Kansas and I was very close to coming down to Dallas because I had two different dealers down there willing to give me much better deals by 3-5k than what I was getting offered at the Toyota dealership in Wichita KS. But when I talked to the dealership in hutchinson ks (45 mins away) they were more than willing to work with me, and even beat the deals I'd found in Texas by a couple grand. So I guess it just depends on the dealer as much as the area.
I paid 36K OTD for my 13 Crew Max XSP-X 2 years ago June. Got it from Fred Anderson Toyota of Charleston. GREAT people there, and they went out of their way to earn my business. The sales guy that sold me the truck, still calls and asks me about it. When I buy a 4Runner for the wife, they'll get first shot at my business.
