I just replaced my waterpump on my 2008 5.7. I followed the 3 step video on YouTube. One thing I never gathered was if there is a torque spec for the bolts. Is there certain torque numbers that need to be applied to them?
Long story short I put the new waterpump and gasket back in. I did it by feel. I couldn't see if the gasket was properly placed(my bad) I did put all bolts in hand tight then did a star pattern tightening them in a star pattern. I torqued them to best shop practice(ratchet and manpower!).
I drove the truck around then parked. When I got out of the truck I noticed a drip spot from the antifreeze coming from the waterpump area...
