Transmission problems @ 33,000 miles

I have a 2010 CrewMax 2WD TRD SR5 5.7 6speed. 90% of the time when I stop it will slam down into first after I come to a complete stop. If it doesn't do that once I lift off the brake to take off it will slam down into first. About 10% of the time it's fine. I will be dropping it off to the dealer tomorrow.

You get the "klunk" noise when you let off the brake?

When I let off the brake from a dead stop or after I'm stopped for a few seconds it down shifts into first.

When I'm at a dead stop and lift off the brake to go, before I touch the gas is when it happens. Not all the time. To me it sounds/feels like the transmission down shifting into first gear. It either does that or after I'm at a dead stop for a few seconds it down shifts into first while I have my foot on the brake.

Yea, ive never had this issue... 105k miles on her. After the lift on cinco de mayo, ive noticed the klunk. It doesn't happen all the time either like you said, i hope its not the transmission.

My '08 FJ does that. First time it did it I thought someone bumped me from behind. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it dosen't but it has done it since it was new. Just figured it was the nature of the beast. My Tundra has not done it. so far.

Same thing has always happened with our 2008 FJ, and I've seen it with different makes and models too. It doesn't always do it but it does it fairly often. I had a '92 cherokee that did the same thing. My mom had a 2003 Jetta that did it from brand new also.

It's the drive shaft. There's been some recalls and there's a bunch of info about it on this site.
My sequoia does it.

I had an 07' Sierra that did the exact same thing. I just got used to it. My Tundra doesn't do it. That's weird that your's is and that it's in every make. Very weird.

my 08' does it and i plan on getting the driveshaft swapped out soon before i hit the 60k mark. the first few weeks i had the truck i was eyeballing the driver behind me in the mirror to get there reaction from what i thought was a light fender bender.

pimped to perfection!
