To be or not to be concern?

Has anyone noticed their tranny acting up? A few times I noticed that if I'm slowing to a stop and the light turns green, the engine revs up and then the tranny catches or when I'm on a decline after letting go of the brakes and then throttling it. It feels like its in mid-shift but the delay worries me. Is this a dealer issue or nothing to be concern over?

The computer may be slightly confused as to what gear to be in.

How's it shift under hard acceleration?

I think they have a TSB out on that. I posted them before. Do a search on it. You're not the first one to have that issue.

Mine will sometimes hang in a gear. For example, going 75 on the interstate in 4th gear.

Mine does that too when I leave it in sport mode.

I don't have any problem during hard acceleration. Only when I'm driving slowly around town that there seems to be a delay in the shifting up.

Thanks, Mickey. I'll search around for it. What do you know about this and should the dealer take a look?

From what I read the dealer probably flushed the torque. I had a similar problem with my 97 Thunderbird and the flushed the tranny as per TSB but was required by TSB to put in synthetic which they charged me $175 for. I was livid.

That's how I get it to shift. I switch it to sport mode, then shift to 5th manually, then put it back to drive.

I have 8900 miles on the truck! This can't be happening. Did the synthetic fixed the problem you were having with your Thunderbird?

So your truck doesn't shift out of 4th in auto mode period. Wow! Any luck with the dealer?

Ok. There is a TSB #10023986 dated November 2007. Looks like a trip to the dealer is unavoidable. Wish me luck!
