Angry Lights, then truck died!!!! Suggestions? (sunday)

My friend just got a new 5.7 also and just put new 20"'s on. He hasn't leveled it or ANYTHING else. I told him that my CEL,VSC, TRAC, 4LO flashing lights came on 100 miles or so after the Toytec and new wheels and might need to get the VSC recalibrated. I just disconnected the neg and it has not happened yet, but i'm still planning on doing it.

Anyway he punched it from a stop sign and got up to speed (1/2 mi) and the CEL,VSC,TRAC,4LO flashing gig came on......then it just died! He called me and I kinda laughed, till he said it died! And just keeps cranking. So he didn't have a wrench, so I went down to disconnect. We let it sit for 3-5 min two times, but we were in the dark right off the road and didn't wait for a full 10 min+ for a reset. Well it happened 1/2 mi from his driveway, so I just towed him. He didn't want to deal with it late last night, me niether. So I didn't check battery, fuel fuses. I searched for a bit last night and didn't find anything simalar to this except for a guy who had water dumped in his tank (which didn't happen). Havent' talked to him this morning, just thought i would post. So anyone.....thoughts?....happened to you? It's sunday so you know what the dealer is going to say. If this is a safty feature, thats BS, what if you were in the fast lane! The oils better be boiling over before it shuts it's self down. BTW gauges were normal. Thanks.

Well it was towed to the dealer and it was a loose pin on a coil from the factory.
Fixed.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix.

If I ever had to have my truck towed, I would have to cover it...

Good question, those were his words and not the dealers. I will ask them next time I am out there. Only thing I can suspect is the connection clip right at the coil. Each cylinder has its own coilpack at the plug right? Theres not one main, so it's got to be that???

And yes, nothing to do with wheels/suspension.

Somone said in another forum, they heard of this before. So maybe there was a tired person on the assembly line that day.

Glad you got her fixed. Somethings just seem to happen out of the blue and never again happens.
