I lost the roof trim the other day

Have any of you had this? I have an '07 double cab 5.7L 4x4 and I was getting on to the freeway when I noticed somethign flapping in the wind. Turns out the black rubber trim that sits in the channel along the roof above the driver's door was loose.

It was kind of a lousy day so I put it in the back of the truck and I'll deal with it when I go to the dealer for my next oil change.

I read on a thread here someone had that happen when they were going through the blowers at a car wash . They took it to the dealer and the replaced and glued it down .

I haven't lost mine but I've noticed it's kind of loose...think I can just get some trim glue from Autozone and take care of it pre-emptively?

The service manager at my local dealer says he has to replace several of them every month. Everything from car washes to high winds seem to blow these things off the trucks. I tucked ours down with a little silicone adhesive just for peace of mind.

I think I might just have to break out the marine goop, lift the ends and resecure em after hearing this.

Been there with the roof strips. Mine were replaced by the dealer twice...then the third time the dealer found there were some differences on the manufacturing of these items. The last ones were replaced last month and have been thru the Car wash a couple of times. There was some issue with part numbers and width of the strips. Seems to be ok now. I also was told they are using Marine Goop on the bottom surface as additional insurance.
