Unhappy

Well guys unfortunately my dealership was no help. He basically told me point blank that its just rock chips and i need to buy some touch up paint. I also have a problem with my chrome rims looking like its got rust or something on it and he told me to get a drimmel and a metal polishing wheel and it should come off. Don't expect anything to be done on this issue from your dealer. Hopefully we can get something done with this petition!

Thumbs up i've fixed the paint problem! well almost

i know all about the paint problem and how the paint scratches so easily. Yeah the paint sucks, there is no doubt about that, but this weekend i used TurtleWax Black Color Cure for my black Tundra and I was shocked. I used it a few times with my black mustang and completely forgot how well it works. I really hope Toyota steps up to the plate but for now, you have to try the Color Cure. I don't know how it works with other colors, but with black being the hardest to keep clean and easiest to spot scratches, it works amazing. Scratches that stuck out like a sore thumb are hardly visible. I even have a hard time trying to find the scratch. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks man, I'll def. give that a try!!! Where does this Color Cure fall into in terms of waxing it. Does it replace wax or go on before waxing?? How did you apply it?

I noticed mine was rough when I first got my truck and washed it for the first time. I didn't know what it was.

Yep.. mine was the same way. Mickey recommended clay bar, that takes away the roughness. After using the clay bar, wax it. It seemed to work good. Doesn't help with the scratches, but one thing at a time I guess.

I think my dumbass did more damage with the claybar than good. I'll take it to a pro sooner or later.

What I did wrong was kept the claybar the way it was when it came out of the wrapping. So I didn't knead it into a wider surface area. Then I just kept using the same side of it. Good thing I got lazy and only did half my truck. DOH!!!!!!!

all i did wash wash the whole truck and then apply the Color Cure now called Color Magic and that's it. It has some wax built into it. All you need is a foam pad and some water to apply it.The foam pad has to damp/wet when you apply the wax. It explains everything on the back. In the past i have used a zymol to go over it for a second coat, but didnt have the time or want to put a second coat on. The chip stick they give you with the wax is crap. you can try it but it doesn't work all that well. Just make sure to really work on the areas where you can really see the scratches. The wax fills in the lines really well and after you buff the wax off, the scratches are virtually gone.
