Petition

Thanks all for putting the word out - I personally hate to buy something only to find out later that it's of poor quality. The rest of the truck is fantastic, but when you're spending so much on a truck, you expect that it's going to last longer than a few years before turning into a rust bucket!

icur12 if you want to setup a petition, either I can do this for you, or if you signup to the website, you can create one.. I've only just coded the petition engine, so let me know your feedback, thoughts or what should be there!

Rick

Mr. Raffray,
We apologize for the paint chips and scratches you are experiencing on your 2007 Tundra.

We understand our customers have high expectations regarding the new Tundra and we have created a case management system to address their concerns. The case manager assigned to your case will be your point of contact during the review of your specific situation.

We have advised the case manager of the contact information that you provided in your email and they will follow up with you by the end of business Friday, May 2nd.

Your email has been documented at our National Headquarters under file #200805011127.

I have owned my tundra for about 12 months now and i have been having problems with the paint chipping and scratching since day one. I have about 20 small chips in the paint primarily on the hood but also on both sides of the vehicle. It also scratches extremely easy, worse than any other vehicle i have owned. I had a tacoma for a year before i bought my tundra and never had an issue at all with the paint. I have yet to go to my dealer because i don't have much confidence in them being that they have screwed something up on every maintenance visit. Is there anything in the works on this problem, being that it is shared by many, and is there anything ya'll can do to assist me? I also have the 100,000 premium warranty for the truck.

Thanks Jared

man i do hope that this gets resolved as i have not yet taken the truck out to any dirt yet and when i wash my truck i have already found some small paint chips from city driving and i know that people here have seen and had bigger problems with their paint than i have but man every Saturday when i wash my truck i starting to find more and more is just disappointing.

I sign and passed it on to some other friends to help out with their signature.

Don't expect anything to be done for current owners I.M.O.

Trucks will look like crap in 3 years.

MY crewmax is one expensive out of pocket repaint.

Paint is extreme disappointment with soft interior plastic. This truck could have been a real winner in many ways if certain corners weren't cut.

well toyota responded to my email about my paint the same day. Today they called me and asked me to bring it into my local dealer to let them take a look at the paint and determine what to do. I am bringing it in monday morning so i will keep ya'll posted if i get somewhere with it.

signed it. The reason i think is because they cheaped out to get you to buy the paint protection package, i can't remember how much but it was, and all they do is put a coat of clear on it. It would be chaeper to take it to a body shop and get them to do for you instead of going through Toyota.
